Abstract

Meckel's diverticulum is the most common congenital abnormality of the gastrointestinal tract. Small bowel obstruction is the most common prevalent complication in adult with Meckel's diverticulum. We present a rare case of small bowel obstruction due to the mesodiverticular band of Meckel's diverticulum with radiological findings. A 78-year-old male patient came with history of acute abdominal pain and constipation. his abdominal CT showed dilatation of small bowel loops with whirlpool sign, favoring an obstruction. This strangulation was observed to be due to mesodiverticular band. The purpose of this case report is to emphasize the serious nature of this condition.
